In 2020, 69 countries still condemned homosexuality in the world. In six member countries of the United Nations, these women and men even risk the death penalty, according to Ilga, the International Association of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Intersex people. In danger, LGBTQIA+ people then want to find refuge in another country. For some, this arrival is a new beginning. Djenk tells about his coming out in Northern Macedonia and how he started his new life here. Adam, Moroccan, has chosen a total break with his past when he arrived in Belgium. For others, however, the problems continue. For a year, Sara, Iranian, was harassed in a reception center for asylum seekers, because of her homosexuality. Zuhail tells his story about finding courage to accept himself in his new life.
