Omayma Masoud, a star presenter on Palestinian television, was a specialist in women's affairs and responsible for European and Arab issues. She survived the Hamas bombardments on the Gaza Strip, but refused to be their spokesperson. Faced with Hamas' ultimatum – "Either you are with us or you are our enemy" – she had to flee Palestine.
Ebrahim Mahfoud, Syrian journalist, documentary filmmaker, researcher and consultant on terrorism issues, experienced Bashar al-Assad's prisons in 1997-98, where he was tortured. In Belgium since May 2021, member of En-GAJE, he bears witness to the horror he experienced.
